A Tropical-Inspired Family Getaway in Quebec: The Ultimate Hotel Escape right here in Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Looking for your next family getaway inspiration that feels like a tropical oasis? Just under a 7 hour drive from Durham Region, this Quebec hotel is a must-add to your Canadian travel bucket list.

๐ŸŒด Why This Hotel Stands Out

Step inside and youโ€™re transported to a lush, indoor paradise with palm trees, vines, glow-lit walkways, and balconies that overlook a stunning heated pool. Itโ€™s like being outside โ€” but youโ€™re completely indoors. Day or night this hotel is stunning. It is so bright and airy in the day and transforms to a romantic paradise at night.

At the heart of this oasis:
โœ… Beautiful heated pool (open until 10pm)
โœ… Hot Tub surrounded by greenery
โœ… Multi-level play structure
โœ… Splash pad
โœ… Plenty of lounge spots surrounded by gardens

During the summer, there are six large outdoor bouncers โ€” a huge hit with the kids โ€” easily accessible right from the pool area. (via stairs)

There is a Lifeguard on duty at all times during swimming hours! Such an amazing feature – I wish all hotels offered this!

๐Ÿ› Activities for the Whole Family

This hotel is packed with family-friendly fun, including:

  • Ping pong table
  • Playroom with kinetic sand, LEGO, Connect 4, books, and colouring (closes at 8pm)
  • Kidsโ€™ manicure and tattoo station (closes at 8pm)
  • Mini theatre room
  • Arcade with air hockey ($)
  • Gym and sauna (we didnโ€™t get a chance to visit these, but theyโ€™re available)
  • On-site restaurant (buffet-style or ร  la carte) overlooking the oasis
  • There is a little koi pond with fish as you enter the pool area

The pool area also features a small stage that looks like it hosts live entertainment (though it wasnโ€™t running during our weekday visit). The hotelโ€™s website mentions events with live shows, so it might be worth checking their schedule if thatโ€™s your vibe.

The lobby is bright, modern and feels like a tropical destination.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Room Tips & Details

I booked this hotel because the tropical room view and the incredible indoor play centre sealed the deal for me โ€” it looked like the perfect family escape, and it truly delivered! We found the best deal on Expedia! It had been on my list for quite some time and it did not disappoint!

We stayed in a Queen room with a Murphy bed (two queens total) with a Garden Viewโ€” both beds had real mattresses and were super comfortable. The room also had a cozy fireplace and enough space next to the Murphy bed for a toddler blow-up mattress (our favourite to travel with) or a playpen. The bathroom was modern with a glass sink and a nice shower (no bathtub).

A few notes:

  • Coffee maker with pods in the room โ€” and extra pods were easy to get. The coffee was great!
  • Curtains were sheer, so sunlight came in bright and early. If you need blackout curtains (especially for daytime naps), consider asking in advance.
  • Our first room was 111 (Garden View Terrace) but was on the bottom floor โ€” pretty but not overlooking the pool. We switched to Room 509 for a perfect balcony pool view. Iโ€™d recommend rooms on floors 4-6 (rooms 503, 505, 507, 509, etc.) for the best experience.
  • While the room didnโ€™t have a microwave, there was a handy kitchenette area on our floor with an ice maker, sink, microwave, and vending machine โ€” though no kitchen tools or gadgets were provided.
  • The outdoor bouncers are outside all summer, so they do get a bit of dust and dirt like youโ€™d find at a playground โ€” just something to keep in mind, no biggie just a note not to wear white!
  • The Football bouncer did not have a football. We went out and grabbed one from the dollar store. We left it there for other kids but I am sure it will get misplaced again. Bring one if you’d like to use this game!
  • The Splash pad was under a refresh when we went but was reopen the day we checked out. Looked like a great addition to the pool area
  • Check in time is 5pm. We aimed to arrive earlier but didn’t end up getting there until 5:20pm. I am unsure if you can use the amenities earlier than check in.
  • Check out is 11am
  • There are plenty of rooms that are available that do not overlook the pool area. Some Have a balcony to the outdoors and some are your standard hotel rooms. There are suites and rooms with kitchenettes available.

๐Ÿš— Accessibility, Amenities & More

โœ… Free parking on-site with lots of space.
โœ… Wi-Fi included โ€” fast enough for streaming. We could connect up to 6 devices in our room
โœ… Easy access to outdoor bouncers from the pool area
โœ… Check-in was a breeze โ€” friendly and helpful staff.
โœ… Elevator access to all levels. Note: the terrace level (Level 1) requires a second short elevator ride (about half a storey up). Itโ€™s easy, but worth noting if you have a stroller or wheelchair โ€” just an extra step some may find inconvenient.
โœ… Staff spoke enough English to make the stay easy and enjoyable โ€” very kind and helpful overall.

๐Ÿ“ Location

Only a 20-minute drive to Old Quebec City. There are grocery stores and a mall with cute patios nearby for convenience. There is a cool food place called La Pyramide close to the hotel that had a lot of food places, a Dollarama, golf simulator and arcade.
